On the evening of May 25, the Yale Glee Club staged a concert at Zijingang Theater. The wonderful singing and spectacular performance carried the audience away.
The Yale Glee Club, composed of 80 members from different majors, is the major undergraduate choir at Yale University and represents the highest level of university choir in the world. It was hailed as one of the best student choirs, most exploratory, exciting, exquisite and moving by New York Times.
In the concert, the Yale Glee Club presented “Ave Maria”, “Home”, “O Danny Boy”, “Eli Yale” and many choral works of different styles, as well as songs popular with Chinese audiences such as “Chrysanthemum flower bed”, “Fengyang song” and etc. The concert featured wonderful singing and spectacular performance designs and won enthusiastic applauses from the audience. At the end of performance, conductor Zhou Zhenyu of Wenqin Choir and conductor Jeffrey Douma respectively conducted “Si Nian” and “I Can Tell the World” performed by two choirs together.
